Hioki India R&D Team Wins Prestigious “Women in Engineering Best Paper Award” at ECCE Asia 2025

Nagano, Japan, 3rd September 2025 – Hioki E.E. Corporation is pleased to announce that the R&D team from our group company, HIOKI INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED (Gurgaon, India), has been honored with the “Women in Engineering (WiE) Best Paper Award” at the ECCE Asia 2025 international conference.

About ECCE Asia and the "Women in Engineering Best Paper Award"

ECCE Asia is a prominent international conference dedicated to power electronics. Organized by the Power Electronics Society (PELS) under the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), it serves as the Asian counterpart to the main North American conference. It provides a vital platform for technological exchange and information dissemination within the region. The 2025 edition took place in Bengaluru, India, from May 11 to 14.

The "Women in Engineering (WiE) Best Paper Award" specifically celebrates and acknowledges the significant contributions of women researchers and engineers in the field of engineering.

About the Award-Winning Paper

The award-winning paper was presented by Cheshta Jain, a Senior Research Engineer at HIOKI INDIA's Innovation Center, which was established in December 2023. Her paper delves into a method for identifying motor parameters within a motor test bench system using HIOKI's PW8001 Power Analyzer, proposing an efficient evaluation method for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM).

The research was co-authored by Cheshta Jain, Natsuki Miyashita (also from the HIOKI INDIA Innovation Center), and Dr. Bhim Singh, Professor Emeritus at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi). HIOKI INDIA's Innovation Center was founded to swiftly deliver optimal measurement solutions to its customers.

Comment from Awardee Cheshta Jain

My participation in ECCE Asia was driven by the opportunity to share our recent research in the field of electrical machines and drives with a global audience. The paper I presented focuses on parameter estimation of a motor being used in electrical vehicles extensively. Presenting at ECCE Asia allowed me to contribute to ongoing discussions in the field, gain valuable feedback, and connect with fellow researchers and professionals.

I am truly honoured and overwhelmed to receive this award. It serves as a significant source of motivation in my journey as a researcher. Being recognised in the Women in Engineering category adds a deeper sense of responsibility and inspires me to strive for continuous improvement. Such recognition not only reinforces my commitment to the field but also encourages me to approach challenges with fresh perspectives and to develop solutions that contribute meaningfully to society.

I would like to respectfully add that this recognition is not merely a personal achievement, but a reflection of the collective efforts of Hioki and our dedicated team in India. I am sincerely grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement extended by my senior colleagues, whose guidance has been instrumental throughout this journey.
