Ueda Factory II Starts Operation and Assumes Responsibility for Automatic Test Equipment Production
Significant increase in production capacity through optimization of the production structures, including other existing factories.
Hioki is pleased to announce the transfer of some production activities to the Ueda Factory II (located in the Nikoda district of the city of Ueda), which began operating on July 8, 2024 after a preparatory period. The facility’s responsibilities include the development, production, and sales of automatic test equipment, as well as the provision of after-sales service. Automatic test equipment is utilized to test the quality of circuit boards, which are used in electronic devices, automobiles, and other products. Demand for the ability to test state-of-the-art semiconductor package boards used in AI applications has been growing in recent years.

The Ueda Factory II is a three-story steel-frame building. The first and second floors are mainly used as production and demonstration space. The third floor is dedicated to workspace for developers and sales staff, as well as a restaurant.

From a sustainability perspective, Hioki was able to reduce the building’s CO2 emissions by 2324 tons through use of recycled materials, including in its roof and exterior. The restaurant uses tableware made from biomass, and the kitchen consists exclusively of all-electric appliances.
Hioki is currently working to optimize its production structures, not only at the Ueda Factory II, but also at its Headquarters Factory and the Sakaki Factory. The company expects to realize a substantial boost in production capacity as a result of those efforts.
