Better way to power your Hioki equipment

Hioki is pleased to announce that non-rechargeable alkaline batteries will be phased out from Hioki products.  This is a part of Hioki’s effort to reduce our negative impact on the environment.

  • How we’re reducing our environmental footprint

Our goal is to inspire our customers who use our products to make the switch to rechargeable batteries, enabling them to both save money and reduce waste. By switching our products from using alkaline batteries to nickel metal hydride batteries (NiMH  batteries), we can reduce CO2 emissions by over 90%.

That being said, please keep the following in mind when using NiMH batteries .
The graph below shows the battery charge display of a product that is battery operated and the power level of rechargeable versus disposable batteries. Due to the different discharge characteristics of different battery types, the remaining capacity indication on the display can be misleading.

The charge display irregularity needs to be noted, but we will continue working at increasing the number of products that can use rechargeable batteries with the aim of reducing the burden on the environment.
