Calibration Services for Automotive Industry
QDoes HIOKI provide calibration services for the automotive industry, such as the IATF 16949?
A
Yes.
IATF 16949, is an international standard for quality management systems in the automotive industry, formulated by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF).
It states that when measuring instruments used for inspection, testing, etc. are calibrated internally, they must satisfy the requirements of an internal testing laboratory. If the requirements for the IATF 16949 internal testing laboratory are not met, the measuring instruments can be calibrated by an external entity.
HIOKI provides calibration services in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025*1, and is thus qualified as an IATF 16949 external testing laboratory.
Since HIOKI also satisfies the requirements for an internal testing laboratory, general calibration may be performed on products that cannot be calibrated in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. This means that general calibration can also fulfill the IATF 16949 standards.
In ISO/IEC 17025 calibration (JCSS calibration), accreditation of calibration range is defined in detail.
