Calculating the actual accuracy of an LCR meter
QHow do I calculate the actual accuracy of an LCR meter?
A
To calculate the accuracy of any LCR meter, it is necessary to have an approximate idea of expected impedance value of the component or device under test (DUT). If the expected impedance is known, or if measurement has already taken place and an impedance value has been identified, measurement accuracy can be computed using the free online accuracy calculator available at the link below:
https://www.hioki.com/e/products/lcr/im_calc_accur/
For example, the basic Z accuracy of the IM3536 LCR Meter is Z ±0.05%
rdg. θ: ±0.03. Assume the following measurement conditions:
Frequency: 125Hz
Range: Auto
Speed: SLOW2
Voltage level: 0.3V rms
Cable length: 0m
DC Bias: OFF
Temperature: 23 deg. C, with no temperature adjustment
Expected impedance: 1000 ohms
Expected phase: 0.1 degree
