Award-Winning Product: Power Analyzer PW4001
Power Analyzer PW4001
The PW4001 delivers the high accuracy required for power evaluation tests in the latest mobility applications, while offering a compact and highly portable power measurement solution. Combining laboratory-grade precision with field-ready durability, it supports power measurement in next-generation mobility, including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
The PW4001 enables highly accurate measurement of even small amounts of power, allowing for precise evaluation of energy consumption and driving range. It guarantees a basic accuracy of ±0.04% from DC to 50/60 Hz, features a lightweight design (4.6 kg), and operates reliably across a wide temperature range (−20°C to +50°C) to withstand harsh environments. It can also acquire voltage values directly from the vehicle’s CAN signal, and wiring via the OBD-II connector enables quick and safe installation.
The PW4001 achieves both high measurement performance and user-friendly operation, enhancing work efficiency and strongly supporting power evaluation for next-generation mobility.
From the Good Design Award Jury:
“This product supports a wide range of regions in xEV development with a temperature range of −20 to 50°C and compatibility with vehicle DC power supplies, enabling measurement during actual driving tests. Responding to challenges identified through analysis of the test flows conducted by automakers and testing institutions have been addressed, it integrates with the vehicle network communication standard CAN and the international OBD-II diagnostic standard to reduce high-voltage wiring and enhances safety. Its practical design allows use from the early development stage through certification testing.”
Award-Winning Product: ALDAS Series (ALDAS-α, ALDAS-Mini, ALDAS-E)
ALDAS Series
The ALDAS Series comprises instruments for impedance measurement using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). With accurate and highly reproducible measurements, ALDAS contributes to solving a variety of challenges, such as identifying degradation factors in electrolytic cells, evaluating material properties, and improving operational efficiency. High-precision impedance measurement accelerates the evaluation of electrolytic cell characteristics and supports the realization of a sustainable society utilizing hydrogen energy.
The lineup includes ALDAS-α for research and development of small cells, ALDAS-Mini for evaluation of large water electrolysis cells and stacks, and ALDAS-E for demonstration and commercial stages. This enables seamless performance evaluation across the entire process, from research to commercialization, using consistent assessment criteria.
From the Good Design Award Jury:
“This product facilitates the realization of a hydrogen-based society, built on an energy source that emits no carbon dioxide, by making it possible to apply electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for measuring the internal states of water electrolysis cells and fuel cells during actual operation. Challenges associated with using EIS under high voltage and high current conditions, such as safety risks, have been addressed by combining impedance measurement technologies cultivated in the battery and power fields with large current clamp sensors and dedicated cables. The promotion of research and development of water electrolysis cells and fuel cells carries significant technical and social importance.”
Award-Winning Product: GENNECT Space SF4300
GENNECT Space SF4300
GENNECT Space is measurement data integration software that consolidates data collected from Hioki instruments into a single workspace. In addition to numerical data, video and GPS (location) information can be synchronized and displayed along a timeline, enabling multifaceted understanding of phenomena and improving analysis efficiency. This makes it possible to visualize the mechanisms behind events, such as “what happened,” “when,” and “under what circumstances,” which were previously difficult to identify with conventional measurement values alone. GENNECT Space streamlines post-measurement review, comparison, analysis, and sharing, supporting engineers in quickly gaining insights and making accurate decisions.
From the Good Design Award Jury:
“This product provides a platform that consolidates and manages vast amounts of measurement, video, and GPS data from multiple devices, which is becoming common in fields such as mobility, energy, and industrial equipment. What is particularly important is the ability to synchronize multiple types of data on a common timeline, making it possible to visualize what happened, when, and where, even for complex phenomena. This allows users to examine correlations and causality between events, enabling deeper understanding and tracking of causes. It is an excellent design that serves as a foundation for pursuing the performance, safety, and reliability of increasingly sophisticated and complex products and equipment."
