Can not insert the earthing rod of the Earth Tester into the ground
QThe auxiliary earthing rod of the Earth Tester cannot be inserted to places with rocks, gravel, or concrete. What should I do?
A
Measurement in these locations can be possible by using the optional Earth Nets 9050.
First, lay the optional Earth Nets 9050 so that it is close to the ground and sprinkle it with water. Next, the grounding resistance can be measured by placing an Auxiliary Earthing Rod on the grounding net.
However, it cannot be used with blacktop/asphalt because water cannot penetrate.
Without using the Earth Nets 9050, the following measurements are also available.
(1) Measure by laying the auxiliary earthing rod on the ground and pouring water on it.
(2) Measure by laying the auxiliary earthing rod on the ground and covering it with a wet rag/cloth.
(3) Place aluminum foil on a wet ground, place an auxiliary earthing rod on it, and pour more water on it for measurement.
The Earth Tester FT6031-50 has enhanced the allowable resistance of the auxiliary earthing electrode by a factor of 10 times.
In order to carry out accurate measurement, the auxiliary earthing rods (S[P] and H[C]) need to be installed at a location far enough away from the grounding.
With the optional L9843-51 and L9843-52, the distance between E and H(C) can be separated to about 50 m.
