Hioki is pleased to announce that it has been certified as a “Best Workplace,” the highest level of recognition in the D&I Award 2024 (hosted by Job Rainbow), which recognizes companies pursuing Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) initiatives.

The company scored 83 out of 100 points in recognition of those initiatives, which include providing enhanced support for employees with disabilities and foreign-national staff and establishing programs to address the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals, including a partnership recognition system. As a result, Hioki’s rating was upgraded from the Advanced Certification it received in the D&I AWARD 2023.

About the D&I Award

Launched in 2021, the D&I Award is Japan’s largest award recognizing companies committed to Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). It aims to promote D&I throughout society and ultimately to realize a society where D&I is the norm by supporting companies pursuing D&I initiatives, promoting understanding and implementation of D&I, and making D&I initiatives easier to pursue.

Companies operating in Japan are assessed on the basis of their D&I initiatives using a proprietary evaluation metric called the “Diversity Score,” which is composed of 100 criteria across five categories: Gender Gap, LGBTQ+, Disabilities, Multicultural Coexistence, and Childcare/Caregiving. Based on their score, companies are classified into one of four recognition levels: Beginner, Standard, Advanced, and Best Workplace.

About Hioki’s initiatives

Hioki considers the growth of its employees to be the driving force behind its growth and the key to sustainable development and future progress.

Since the establishment of the Hioki Philosophy in 1986—Respect for Humanity and Contribution to Society—the company has been working to make it easier for employees to do their jobs and realize a sense of purpose. Since 2020, we’ve been working to achieve Vision 2030, which defines a series of long-term management policies, by fostering a dynamic and open workplace where employees can fully realize their potential and abilities. This effort entails respecting each individual employee’s purpose and aspirations—what employees want to do and accomplish, the challenges they wish to embrace, and the contributions they wish to make through Hioki. Furthermore, in 2023 we introduced a series of DE&I Guidelines to implement various initiatives aimed at creating an environment where individuals are accepted, respected, and empowered to make the most of their unique backgrounds and attributes.

Going forward, the Hioki Group will continue to contribute to society’s peace of mind and development by promoting customers’ safe, effective use of energy through electrical measurement.
