Hioki Establishes Sales Subsidiary in Taiwan
Meeting on June 7, 2018, Hioki’s Board of Directors approved a resolution to establish the following new subsidiary in Taiwan:
Company Name: Hioki Taiwan Co., Ltd.
Location: Taoyuan, Taiwan
President: Takahiro Okazawa (Also Senior Managing Executive Officer of Hioki E.E. Corporation)
Managing Director: Junya Tobari
Businesses: Sale of Hioki products, customer support, marketing, and after-sales service in Taiwan
Capital: NT$11,000,000 (about JPY 40 million)
Date of establishment: July 2018 (tentative)
Start of operations: August 2018 (tentative)
(The yen equivalent of the new company’s capital was calculated at an exchange rate of NT$1 = JPY 3.7.)
Hioki has identified the development of a global sales network as a top priority. With its many electronics components manufacturers, Taiwan is positioned as an important market where further development is expected in the future. By establishing a subsidiary to further cultivate this market, we will further strive to expand our customer base by fortifying a sales network while to penetrating the HIOKI brand across the region.
“We are looking forward to the establishment of Hioki Taiwan in Taoyuan City, west of the capital city of Taipei. Hioki launched our presence in this region in June 2012 as a liaison office, but in light of the continued expansion of the market and to ensure delivery of even closer service to our customers at their application sites, the most logical next step was to transition to a full-service organization,” comments Junya Tobari, Managing Director of the new subsidiary. "We are excited at the prospects of working hand-in-hand with our customers and furthering the penetration of the HIOKI brand in the market."

The establishment of Hioki Taiwan, Co., Ltd. will have only a minor impact on the Hioki Group’s consolidated business performance during the fiscal year ending December 31, 2018.
