Power factor value is lower than value shown on billing meter (PQ3198/PW3198)

Power factor value is lower than value shown on billing meter (PQ3198/PW3198)

Question

The power factor values between the PQ3198/PW3198 and billing meter are different. The PW3198 shows lower power factor than the billing meter.

Answer

There are two calculation methods for the power factor.
"PF (Power Factor)":  Calculating using the RMS values.
"DPF (Displacement Power Factor)":  Calculating using the fundamental values.
Usually, a billing meter uses the DPF method.
If the PQA is set to "PF", please change it to "DPF".
If you use the PQ3100, please select "Fundamental" for the PF calculation method.
