Hioki and Nagano Nihon Daigaku High School Offer Sustainability-themed Internship for Five Students

Hioki (HIOKI E.E. CORPORATION, based in Ueda-shi, Nagano Prefecture, and led by Takahiro Okazawa, President) and Nagano Nihon Daigaku High School (Nagano Nihon Daigaku Gakuen Educational Corporation, based in Nagano-shi, Nagano Prefecture, and led by Tetsuo Yanagihara, Chairman, Board of Trustees) are pleased to announce an effort to build a “Learning Consortium” that will deepen a broad range of learning and education based on creative exploration while fostering the development of human resources with globally relevant skills by offering meaningful, real-world experiences to the youth who will be responsible for forging the future. Over the five-day period from January 29 to February 2, Hioki will host five students from Nagano Nihon Daigaku High School as interns.

This initiative is based on the Learning Consortium Agreement into which the two partners entered last January.

During the internship, each participating student will deepen their learning through creative exploration of a topic he or she chose in advance, while attending lectures on Hioki’s electrical measuring instruments and sustainability activities, engaging in dialog with American and Chinese group company employees, and participating in discussions with Hioki’s president, among other planned activities. In addition to staying at Hioki Lodge (the company’s employee dormitory) and experiencing life as a working adult, the interns are scheduled to interact with Hioki employees.

Hioki plans to hold a presentation at its Head Office on March 15 showcasing the results of the internship program and associated recommendations.
