Power factor value is lower than value shown on billing meter (PW3360)

Power factor value is lower than value shown on billing meter (PW3360)

Question

The power factor values between the PW3360 and billing meter are different. The PW3360 shows lower power factor than the billing meter.

Answer

There are two calculation methods for PF (power factor), Q (reactive power) and S (apparent power) on the PW3360 and PW3365.
In the PF/Q/S Selection,
"FUNDAMENTAL":  Calculating using the RMS values.
"RMS":  Calculating using the fundamental values. (= DPF: Displacement Power Factor)
Usually, the billing meter uses the DPD method.
Please set the calculation to "FUNDAMENTAL" if your PW3360 is set to "RMS".
