HIOKI Establishes Joint Venture in India

(Ueda, Nagano, July 2010) HIOKI E.E. CORPORATION has established a joint venture with local distributor Khandela Electronika in Indore, India, to expand HIOKI’s presence in the highly promising market.

2. Objective

Since its founding in 1935, HIOKI has specialized in the manufacture of state-of-the-art electrical measuring instruments, supplying its products to customers in Japan and around the world.

Although until now it has focused on China and the United States as key markets, the company elected to establish a joint venture to strengthen sales in India, a quickly developing country with a high level of latent growth potential.

In the joint venture with local distributor Khandela Electronika, HIOKI holds 50% equity in the new company. Headquartered in Indore, HIOKI INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED is located midway between the economic centers of Delhi and Mumbai in the central part of the country, an area that is expected to see significant development of new transportation infrastructure in coming years. The establishment of the joint venture will help HIOKI establish a domestic sales channel in India, increase the market penetration of its products, and enhance after-sales service.
