Voltage
and current level recording
Using the MEMORY HiCORDER as a RMS recorder
enables measurement of voltage and current levels.
This greatly simplifies recording of power line fluctuations over
a long period of time.
Trigger activation for detection of momentary power failures.
Plant equipment
monitoring
In plants, MEMORY HiCORDERs are used to
measure and record the operation of solenoid and control valves.
Since X-Y plots can be simultaneously created for four channels, the
relationship between flow and valve lift can also be observed. |

Method
to identifying leak current emitting equipment
The MEMORY HiCORDER can be used to identify
from which of several machine tools that leak current originates.
The leak current is measured by applying clamp-on- probes to the power
supply line and all the machines to be inspected.
The signals indicating the operation conditions and obtained from
each of the machines are input as logic input. Logic and leak current
are measured over a long time. Analyzing the machine operation conditions
and the changes in leak current can help identify the faulty machines.

Measuring
transport comfort on devices such as elevators
The minute variations in the acceleration
accompanying the movement of an elevator car affect how comfortable
the ride feels to people in the elevator. By recording these minute
changes in acceleration, ride comfort can be quantified.
A strain gage is used to convert the acceleration to a voltage that
the MEMORY HiCORDER can record.
The acceleration involved in the movement of the elevator or other
transport device can be recorded as acceleration with fast changes,
which affect the comfort of the ride, and acceleration with suitable
slow changes for comparison. At the same time, the motor or engine
control signal, drive voltage and current can also be recorded and
used for reference in connection with inspection and maintenance of
the device. |

Inspection
of rotating machinery
Since substantial economic losses are entailed
when large rotating machinery, such as generators and motors, stands
still, it is desirable to always have a good understanding of the
operating conditions of the machinery. The oscillation method, which
utilizes the phenomenon that vibrations emitted from machinery increase
together with advancing deterioration, can be used for this purpose.
Measurements should be performed periodically so that the waveform
at the time of the installation of the machine can be compared with
the current waveform to observe changes taking place in the course
of time.
Acceleration sensors are attached to the rotating machinery; the oscillation
is detected and input to the MEMORY HiCORDER where FFT analysis takes
place.
This allows unbalance, misalignment, gear irregularities, bearing
and oil irregularities, etc. to be estimated. |
