| Recording
the waveform of servo output
When adjusting and inspecting products equipped
with a servomotor, recording of the servo output waveform is indispensable.
The servo pack's speed waveform and torque waveform can be observed
and recorded with a MEMORY HiCORDER. It is desirable that the torque
characteristics are uniform during all operation modes.
Overshooting and waveforms with blunt rise edges are undesirable.
While the MEMORY HiCORDER is used to observe the speed and torque
waveform, the servo pack's speed loop gain can be adjusted until
uniform torque waveforms are obtained.
Furthermore, in the case of industrial robots where multiple servomotors
are employed, each of the control signals and feedback signals can
be simultaneously observed and recorded.

| Monitoring
arc welder current and voltage waveforms
As the arc length is proportionate to the arc voltage,
the arc welder's voltage and current waveforms can be monitored
to see if they are within specifications and by employing the FFT
analysis function, the deviation of each weld can be understood.
The current waveform can also be observed to check the quality of
welding in the case of contamination of material surface, dimensional
variations, etc. to ensure stable and reliable quality control.

| Measuring
the natural vibration of material bodies
When installing a machine, the strength of material
bodies can be increased by ensuring that the natural frequency of
the machine does not coincide with the vibration frequencies of
the surroundings.
Example: After striking the machine (object to be measured) with
an impulse hammer, the propagated signal is captured by acceleration
pickup sensors and the transfer function can be found to determine
the machine's (object) natural frequency (x ? x' Hz).
By shifting the natural frequency of the machine (object), resonance
can be suppressed to reduce noise and vibrations.

| Measuring
irregularities in hydraulic machines
Pressure waveforms can be measured and recorded
simultaneously at various points of hydraulic machines to determine
whether such machines are operating normally. The scaling function
allows the user to directly read pressure values.

| Detection
of amount of stepper motor shaft runout
New stepper motor drive methods, such as the micro-step
drive method, have come into use. Using the MEMORY HiCORDER's waveform
evaluation function, the waveform of the motor control signal, which
is output from the controller, can be checked to judge whether the
controller is conforming to specifications.
The waveform evaluation function can also be used for inspection
and evaluation of controllers operating according to standard control
methods, provided that waveforms can be used to check whether or
not the controller is operating according to specifications.

| Recording
the various parameters of injection molding machines
The injection molding machine's 1-cycle operation
command signal, the pressure and displacement can be recorded. In
addition, torque, current and voltage, etc.
can also be recorded.
This data can be repeatedly recorded using the X-Y recorder or the
overwriting feature of the memory recorder function. By repeating
this and monitoring the operation, it is easy to conduct performance
variation checks and quality inspection.

| Monitoring
shaft torque irregularities of compressors
Compressor shaft torque irregularities adversely
affect coupling reduction gears. It is difficult to detect instantaneous
torque irregularities by merely surveying the motor's load current.
Strain-gage sensors with FM transmitters should therefore be attached
to the shaft.
Since it is impossible to predict when irregularities may occur
during operation, trigger functions can be used with advantage to
record the time when irregularities occur in the form of a time
chart. This makes it simple to analyze the cause of the problem.
In the case of processes
utilizing a roller, the trigger functions can also be used for monitoring
the roller's rotating speed, control timing, and to check whether
items fall within specifications.
