In April 2007, we established HIOKI (Shanghai) Sales & Trading Co., Ltd. in China, along with sales offices in Beijing and Guangzhou. This will provide us with a solid base for strengthening our presence in the extensive Chinese market. |

Participation in Kenya Forest Regeneration Project (April) |

HIOKI was honored to support the Kenya Forest Regeneration initiated by Dr. Akira Miyawaki, Professor Emeritus of Yokohama National University. As a first step, 1300 trees were planted in April 2007, and we intend to continue supporting this program that aims to reverse the decline of forests in Kenya. |

Environment Business Initiated (May) |

In May 2005, HIOKI established a new environment business under the slogan "Let's Ecost", aimed at optimizing energy costs and thereby contributing to a balanced ecology. Using HIOKI's measurement technology know-how, we are offering support to customers that extends from choosing the right contract to using energy efficiently. These efforts are aimed at helping to combat global warming.
