A defect to the firmware of HIOKI MEMORY HiCORDERs has been found to affect the reliability of measurement data ONLY when waveform (electronic) data is analyzed and processed by a PC or similar device. This information is being provided in supplement to the previous discovery of the following malfunctions:

1. No waveform data can be acquired
2. The presence of obviously improper data such as randomly unstable waveforms
3. An instrument has been found to hang or freeze under certain measurement conditions
4. Problems with the instruments printer (if installed)

All known bugs and defects have been resolved with the latest firmware for each of the affected instruments.

• Erroneous measurement results for current measurement when using Model 8951 Voltage/Current Unit and Model 9729 UNIVERSAL CLAMP ON CT under certain measurement ranges
• Erroneous display of the time axis when using the REC function under certain long measurement ranges
• Erroneous Numerical Value Calculation (Average, RMS and Area)
• Erroneous text data ftp transfer via LAN

-2. Models 8860 and 8861 MEMORY HiCORDERs - Details

• Erroneous measurement results for current measurement when using Model 8940 F/V Unit and Model 9729 UNIVERSAL CLAMP ON CT under certain measurement ranges
• Problems when auto-saving to the PC Card under certain conditions
• Anomaly with the waveform data when measurement is cancelled while Model 8958 Scanner Unit is installed in the MEMORY HiCORDER
• Problems when auto-saving when using a slow time axis with the MEM function
• Problems with auto-saving data while sampling with two time axes with the MEM function
• Problems with auto-saving data to the secondary storage media while using the memory division feature
• Errors with the moving average for waveform calculations

• Error when attempting to save time series data as text whereby the scaling settings were not reflected, when using the harmonics function and set to certain conditions

-4. Models 8714 and 8715 POWER HiCORDERs - Details

• Erroneous measurement results for current measurement when used with Model 3283 Clamp On Leak HiTESTER

-5. WaveViewer (Wv) PC Application

• Problems when converting data to CSV format under certain conditions

-6. 9334 Logger Communicator - Details

• Problems with numerical calculation (integration and area calculation)

-7. Models 8826 and 8841/8842 MEMORY HiCORDERs - Details

• Auto-saved waveform calculation data is incorrect. When loaded by the instrument or a PC application (Wv or Hioki 9335 software), the values loaded for the waveform or cursors are different than the originally measured data.
