| Product Overview |
 |
The 8847 represents a full model change in the highly successful HIOKI MEMORY HiCORDER series consisting of Models 8841 and 8842, first introduced in 1998. By applying HIOKI's advanced technical expertise and implementing extensive research data as well as customer feedback about application environments and desirable features, the new model was redesigned from the ground up. Major design targets were immediate accessibility, speed of operation, and measurement flexibility.
Immediate accessibility refers to the capability of taking the unit to troubleshoot problems as soon as you are on site, with sturdy construction that can easily take a few knocks. Speed of operation refers to high-speed waveform recording, which is the mainstay of the product, as well as intuitive and convenient function control, and fast electronic data handling. Measurement flexibility is the ability to offer an easy-to-use instrument that allows the user to achieve his measurement needs without having to refer to the instruction manual.
The 8847 is a high-speed waveform recorder that greatly facilitates the analysis and detection of abnormal waveforms on site. This is applicable to electrical distortion, mechanical vibration problems, and a wide range of other phenomena. |

 |
- High-speed waveform recorder
Supports instantaneous waveform observation and recording, for example to monitor commercial power supply lines. Transient waveform events such as caused by motor inrush current can also easily be recorded.
- Mechanical problem analysis
Sequential control is an essential aspect of operating machinery. The relationship between commands and actual operation can be evaluated through high-speed waveform recording. This makes it easy to find the causes of problems by observing the time series data collected before and after an event.
- Real-time recording at slow speed allows use as X-Y recorder
While X-Y recorders are gradually disappearing from the market, the 8847 implements X-Y recorder functionality using electronic data. A chart recording function for tracing slow level changes on paper is also available. |

| Special Features |
 |
- Optimized weight balance and large handle for easy portability
The 8847 features a convenient handle and newly designed tough enclosure that can withstand knocks and even falls.
- Start measurement straight away without a manual
A special Help Wizard function guides the user to the exact steps for performing any intended operation.
- Get hard copy from a measurement without delay
One-touch paper loading makes for dramatically improved usability. The unit is ready for printing in a flash, and high printing speed sustains a paper feed rate of 50 mm per second.
- High-speed recording of 20 megasamples per second
Full isolation for all channels and simultaneous sampling are further advantages. The high-capacity memory holds 64 megawords (12 bit) and supports sampling rates of up to 20MS/s. Target waveforms can be captured reliably, to perform effective analysis and troubleshooting.
- Save data on USB memory, CF card, or internal hard disk
Data can be saved on CompactFlash media about three times faster than with conventional products. Using the application software supplied as standard with the 8847, waveform data can be displayed on a computer, and conversion to CSV format for importing into Excel is also possible.
- Support for LAN connection to a computer
Built-in HTTP/FTP server capability allows remote access via a browser, as well as data download capability.
- Flexible configuration adapts to requirements for number of measurement channels and signal types
Up to 16 analog input channels and 16 logic input channels are supported. When logic measurements have priority, up to 64 logic inputs can be combined with 10 analog inputs. This is made possible by the plug-in module design which enables swap-out replacement of the analog measurement section. |
