(June 2011, Nagano, Japan) HIOKI E.E. CORPORATION is pleased to announce the launch of the 3390-10 POWER ANALYZER featuring new, high-accuracy specifications. Thanks to exceptional accuracy of up to ±0.1%, which exceeds the based model 3390’s capabilities, the new instrument is poised to make a major contribution to the development of electrical equipment for use in energy conservation and alternative energy applications.
The 3390 POWER ANALYZER, which was launched by HIOKI in March 2009, has been embraced by customers as a high-precision power meter. By adding the new 3390-10 to its line of power meters, HIOKI is moving to satisfy demand for even higher-precision measurement.
Demand for electrical equipment for applications in energy conservation and alternative energy development efforts, including solar panels, electric vehicles, motors, and inverters, has reached an all-time high. Engineers developing products for this market segment find themselves faced with the need to achieve efficiency improvements in the order of 0.1%. Since the 3390-10 delivers measurement accuracy of up to ±0.1% when used in combination with certain pass-through current sensors (CT6862-10, CT6863-10, and 9709-10), the new instrument is deal for use in the development of energy-saving products.
Furthermore, the above accuracy (up to ±0.1%) applies to all measurement ranges. Whereas the 3390’s accuracy varies with the range, the 3390-10 delivers the same accuracy for all ranges so that customers can make measurements without concerning themselves with range-induced accuracy variations. Additionally, the 3390-10 features a 12-month period of guaranteed accuracy, compared to 6 months for the 3390.
*Accuracy serves as an indicator of the extent to which the measured value displayed on a measuring instrument diverges from the electrical signal’s “true” value. |

- Measurement accuracy of up to ±0.1% when used with certain pass-through current sensors
The 3390-10 achieves a maximum measurement accuracy of ±0.1% when used with certain HIOKI pass-through current sensors, making the new instrument more precise than the 3390, whose accuracy peaks at ±0.16%. High precision on the order of 0.1% is required in the development of products for energy conservation and other applications, and the 3390-10 delivers the performance necessary to meet those needs.
- Range-independent accuracy
While the base model 3390’s accuracy depends on the range being used, all of the 3390-10’s ranges share the same accuracy, allowing users to measure current and power without worrying about which range they are using.
- Extended period of guaranteed accuracy (from 6 months to 12 months)
Whereas the 3390’s accuracy is guaranteed for 6 months, the 3390-10 features a 12-month period of guaranteed accuracy. Additionally, the 9791 MOTOR TESTING OPTION, 9792 D/A OUTPUT OPTION, and 9793 MOTR TESTING & D/A OUTPUT OPTION share the same 12-month period of guaranteed accuracy. |
